Description
One of my favorite scenes from the High Sierra: the Minarets glowing in the first light of day. It wasn’t easy to get this photo - after a brief ‘nap’, I made my way to the trailhead shortly after 1am and hiked the nearly 7 miles (and few thousand feet in elevation) under a freezing starry sky to this lake. I arrived just as the peaks were starting to take on a slightly amber glow, and this incredible scene unfolded soon after. Truly magical experience to bath in the beauty and stillness of this rugged mountain oasis, far from civilization, yet close to the beating heart of life.
